About My Clients
I help individuals to better understand themselves, the world they live in, and why they are suffering or struggling. Once you understand why you feel the way you feel, you begin to experience relief, and together we can identify and implement realistic, practical tools for feeling better and staying better.
My Background and Approach
You can't heal without understanding the problem, and you can't understand the problem without understanding the person. Effective treatment needs to focus on both the problem and the person. I have an extensive history of working with adults from college students to senior citizens, and of all ages, races, religions, and sexual orientations. I have post-graduate training from the Institute for Mindfulness and Psychotherapy, allowing me a unique knowledge base from which to promote healing and growth through the integration of Western and Eastern understandings of human suffering and healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all people are good and that all people deserve to be heard and understood. All people suffer, and all people can grow and heal. I am an ally to the LGBTQIA community to which I have a long history of providing unconditional support. I believe that Black lives matter, period. For those with religious or spiritual perspectives (including atheism and agnosticism), I seek to work within the framework of their own worldview. And, of course, I am an animal person (especially a dog person).
