About My Clients
Having experienced chronic pain, OCD, anxiety and depression, I enjoy working with people who also have these conditions and are looking for guidance and support from someone who gets it. I know how hard and isolating it can be to cope with pain or a mental illness; my aim is create a safe space where you can share your feelings and hardships without fear of judgment while I use evidence-based treatments to help you develop the skills needed to treat these concerns.
My Background and Approach
After finding significant relief from both chronic pain and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), I was motivated to become a therapist and received my Masters Degree from California State University Northridge. I treat chronic pain, OCD and anxiety using a variety of modalities, including Pain Reprocessing Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention and Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy. Due to my personal experience with both OCD and chronic pain, I am uniquely aware of how these two conditions can interact as well as what techniques are most effective for treating them. I aim to help clients transform the situations that cause them pain as they discover and pursue the things that matter most to them in life, all while learning to be kind to themselves along the way. Research has shown that being in nature helps with anxiety, depression and overall stress, so I like to conduct my sessions while hiking.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My interests include nature, animals, music (listening and playing), drawing, animation and film. LGBTQ+ affirming. I support harm reduction and housing for all.
