About My Clients
I specialize in the assessment and treatment of depression, anxiety, stress/ trauma, substance abuse, insomnia, phobias, and relationship problems. I also have significant clinical experience in treating serious antisocial behavior in youth, direct use of pragmatic family therapies with families in conflict, individual therapy with adolescents and adults using CBT, marital therapy using behaviorally-based approaches, and behavioral therapy targeting school/ work behavior and performance.
My Background and Approach
I provide therapeutic treatment to diverse populations and communities. I received my BA in Psychology from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, and my MSW from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. Throughout my career I have provided therapy to individuals and families within the Greater New Orleans Region and throughout the Shenandoah Valley. I have over five years of experience in the mental health field and a background in research, case management, in-home therapy, outpatient therapy, tele-therapy, and supervising. I practice a person-centered therapeutic approach that is suited to each individual’s needs. By working collaboratively with clients to determine their motivations to make a change in their lives, an individualized treatment approach is established. I offer an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment in which therapy takes place, and I am dedicated to assisting individuals and families in their pursuit of healthier and happier lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy, at some point in their lives, and I hope to make it more affordable/ accessible for people to incorporate into their everyday lives. It's never too late to make a change in your life, for the better, and there's no time like the present. Mental health issues often arise due to unhealthy habits/ behavioral responses that have we have learned throughout our lifetime. With the help of a great therapist you can begin to replace cognitive distortions and increase healthy functioning. I believe that I may be that therapist. If you want to learn more about how I can help, feel free to call/ message me.
