About My Clients
Feeling down, overwhelmed, angry, anxious, or maybe you just want to feel alive and comfortable in your own skin? Maybe marriage or relationship difficulties are causing you distress. Or, perhaps something else, like self-doubt or shame, is weighing you down, robbing your happiness, and has you questioning yourself or your future. Often finding someone to talk to and work through your difficulties with can help restore your happiness and well-being.
My Background and Approach
I'm an attachment- and trauma-informed therapist, working from a psychodynamic and emotionally-focused orientation. I would be honored to join you on your journey to find lasting relief so you can be your best self. I've been down my own path of trauma, difficulty, and distress, and so I'm able to empathize with where you might be right now. I am completing my MA in clinical mental health counseling at Northwestern University. I also hold a PhD in divinity from the University of Aberdeen (Aberdeen, Scotland), as well as a ThM and MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. I hold a certificate in spiritual direction, and am also formally trained in emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), internal family systems (IFS) therapy, and EMDR.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a military veteran (USAF). I also teach in the religion and philosophy department at Shaw University, and have served as a Christian pastor and missionary since 2006.
