Anxiety is a very common experience and also very manageable. Through CBT and Gestalt techniques, we can work together to manage your anxiety in a way that makes you feel comfortable to function well in your daily life.

Grief is something we will all experience at one point in our lives. I have worked extensively with individuals struggling with grief and loss issues in both private and agency settings. Through our work together, you can begin to feel on the path to a sense of normalcy and cope with any emotions you are experiencing as a result of your loss.

I’m currently in the post-graduate clinical fellowship program at Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy. I’m drawn to the idea that we are bringing our past into the present, both in the way we interact with our world and in the therapy room. Recognizing that, we can work through and heal from past difficulties in the space of therapy.

My ultimate goal in this work is for you to feel more connected with yourself, your loved ones, and your environment using the therapy space as a microcosm for such possibilities.

An ADHD diagnosis, particularly in adults, can have created a great deal of fuel for shame. Being told to fit in a societal box outside of our natural way of doing things and potentially receiving negativity when failing to do so from parents, teachers or peers. We work to undo what has been internalized from these stigmas. I also work with parents to help avoid instilling the same in young ones with ADHD.

Self-esteem issues can often lead to deeper anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts or actions, and can impact our ability to connect with others. Our work would explore the thoughts about yourself, finding the source back in our childhood and creating the ability to see yourself through a new, perhaps more positive, lens.

Anxiety, as much as it can cause us trouble, is a natural and important signifier of danger. The problem is when it goes off at inconvenient times and inhibits our goals. Let’s find the source of the anxiety, figure out why it showed up for you, and create a present environment where it doesn’t inhibit you, but it does it’s job of protecting from true danger.

Let’s find the source of the anxiety, figure out why it’s sending danger and recalibrate the way it responds, so it can go back to its job of finding real danger, and you can freely go back to yours.
