About My Clients
I work with individuals, couples and families. My clients are typically ages 11 and up. Some areas that I am especially passionate about working with are anxiety, depression, sexual assault, trauma, relationships dynamics, self-esteem, life-transitions, gender, sexuality, identity and chronic pain.
My Background and Approach
As a California-certified Sexual Assualt Counselor, I have supported individuals in discovering paths towards healing after truama. I have experience supporting clients through individual therapy sessions as well as leading mindfulness groups, movement-oriented groups, Dialectical Behavior Therapy skill classes, and pain recovery groups focused on fostering a sense of safety within the nervous system. I enjoy incorporating mindfulness and somatic exercises in my work, as those practices can aid in regulating emotions, deepening feelings of connectedness, and release the stress (and trauma) held in the body.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In terms of therapeutic approach, I believe collaboration and compassion are at the root of a successful therapeutic relationship. I offer an open, non-judgmental space where individuals can speak honestly about their thoughts and experiences while exploring their personal goals. I cater my approach to each individual I work with, taking into consideration their unique history, beliefs, values and interests. I am an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist who works with my clients to notice and break down societal scripts, pressures, and ‘shoulds’. With that breaking down comes a unique opportunity to rebuild, discover and get curious about what you want in life and what support would help you get there.
