About My Clients
Are you feeling overwhelmed by your emotions? Do you feel like you don’t know who you are? You may feel like you are constantly living on edge, waiting for the next threat to appear. Or, maybe you feel like you’ve shut down and are running on autopilot. Anxiety, panic attacks, chronic stress, depression, and trauma have you feeling stuck. Your nervous system isn’t sure who or what feels safe anymore. Together, we can learn tools to foster safety and emotion regulation while learning who you are.
My Background and Approach
I use a trauma-informed, collaborative, person-centered approach to help foster growth and safety. I value your thoughts, beliefs, and insights, as I believe that inherently, people know themselves and their experience best. Should an you choose to pursue and engage in therapy with me, I will be a soundboard for your ideas, an explorer to understand the deeper parts of you, and an anchor to help ground you in moments of feeling overwhelmed. I know that seeking and beginning therapy can be intimidating. It takes a lot of courage to do something that requires deep vulnerability. It is my intention to honor that courage and vulnerability, and sit with you in the midst of fears that arise with the unknown and uncomfortable. Together, we will understand your story and how it has affected you and your life, learn to identify and regulate your emotions, and build coping skills and confidence for you to manage the thoughts, emotions, and stress you experience in your day-to-day life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the therapeutic relationship between the client and the therapist is the most important part of the therapeutic process. My hope is to create a safe environment, where individuals can experience compassion, empathy, healing, love, acceptance, and growth. I aim to understand all the different parts of individuals that make them who they are today. I believe that every individual has a story that deserves to be heard, and I am honored to listen and share a part in your story. I currently work at Gentle Shepherd Counseling Center. My main areas of focus include body image concerns, eating issues, military and veterans’ problems, anxiety, depression, spiritual identity and concerns, identity development, self-esteem, life adjustments, and emotional regulation. I am currently offering daytime and evening appointments to individuals who want to embark on the healing journey. Please call or email to begin the counseling process.
