About My Clients
Many of my clients struggle with an eating disorder, anxiety, perfectionism, low self-esteem, relational stressors, or navigating a life transition. They are often feeling uncertain or overwhelmed with one or many areas of their lives that they want to make change in, but are looking for support in figuring out the next step. Sometimes they may feel like they have either never found their voice or have lost it through the weight of other's or their life experiences.
My Background and Approach
My focus in therapy has been supporting clients with eating disorders throughout all phases of recovery, often extending into maintaining and sustaining their progress throughout the next developmental phase of their life. I am trained through the highest level of eating disorder certification (CEDS-C) to maintain my expertise in this area. I take the approach of understanding what's beneath the behaviors in order to help you heal and understand yourself more deeply that extends beyond the eating disorder itself. I remain open, curious, and authentic within therapy together and take a relational approach where we are figuring things out together in order to provide you with the best insight and resources to feel better in whatever ways you desire.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have dedicated my professional career to treating women with eating disorders, anxiety, perfectionism, and self-esteem struggles due to my own lived experience that inspired me to pursue becoming a therapist. I carry the belief that there is nothing innately wrong with each of us as humans, but that we have often developed patterns, coping skills, or self-defense mechanisms as a way to manage our emotional distress. We often need the support of someone else to walk us through acknowledging these in a safe way in order to assess how we can begin to free ourselves from them.
