CBT is a an approach where we will help to identify negative core beliefs and challenge them. We are often paralyzed by our own negative thought patterns and that can encourage avoidance in many situations. My goal is to help you get out of your own way by turning up the volume on the negative self-talk and teach you ways to rewire your thoughts to promote healthier and more positive self-talk and beliefs.
DBT falls right in line with my commitment to the mind and body connection. DBT has a very structured and concrete set of skills that helps individuals tackle their concerns from both the mental and physical levels. These skills help you become more effective in these areas: interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and emotion regulation. We work to accept our emotions and respond better to them, build healthier and more effective relationships, and learn crisis management.
Mindfulness allows us to embrace the here and now. We often get stuck in the past focusing on things we cannot change or stuck in the future worrying about things that haven't happened yet. Mindfulness is an active practice that frees us from the past and future and allows us to fully enjoy the present. We will learn how to practice mindfulness through meditation exercises, activities, conversations, and mindsets. This is where we get to move away from suffering and into enjoying our life.
Adulting is hard! Especially with all of the social pressures telling you who to be and what to do with your life. I encourage you to break the mold and dare to be different. Instead of trying to keep up with the Jones's, I want to teach you how to love your life not theirs! Find passion in the work you do. Find that work and life balance you so desperately need. Live freely with your choices, even if it's not what others had in mind for you.

Anxiety can be really debilitating and a physical experience over seemingly nothing. Anxiety does not have to take over your life if you learn how to accept it and respond better to it. Together we will figure out the annoying messages that anxiety is telling you and learn more effective ways to respond to the barrage "what if" questions. We will also learn ways to prevent your body going 0-60 panic mode every time you get a worry thought.
