About My Clients
I’m Dana, and I help folx just like you: ones that have it within them to be true to who they are and just want some support to get there. The clients I work with have dealt with some tough $hit. My clients describe me as making them feel “normal” and that they wish we had met as friends. In a world that often feels like it was not made for you, this is a place when you can show up authentically.
My Background and Approach
As someone who is in therapy themself, I recognize the importance of the therapeutic alliance. My background and training as a Certified Peer Support Specialist means I am a human first and foremost. I became a therapist because I wanted to contribute to changing the system by decolonizing it from the inside. I use the privilege that comes with the education I received and research I have done to help you with assessments, accommodation requests, and letters of support in addition to ongoing therapy for individuals, couple/ relationships, families, and groups. I know that everyone wants something different in therapy, so I stay flexible and adjust to your needs. At the end of each session, I ask for your feedback so I can make the next session better. Together, we will focus on what is important to you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
About me: I identify as a queer (sexuality and gender identity), disabled, white person who works in the mental health field. I also identify as a person in recovery with severe and persistent mental illness. I am a survivor of suicide loss. I provide all services via online therapy. Please reach out to learn more!
