About My Clients

I specialize in working with issues relating to gender, sexuality and Autism. I can offer guidance for managing concerns related to executive functioning, sensory processing, and tools for recognizing signs of shutdown, meltdown, and burnout. I also offer queer/gender-affirming care to LGBTQIA+ individuals. I aim to provide my clients with a safe space to explore their experiences and connect clients to affirming resources, as well as beneficial techniques and coping skills.

My Background and Approach

I received my M.A. degree from Lewis and Clark College in Professional Mental Health Counseling in May 2019. I pull from a variety of theoretical orientations based on the clients’ unique challenges and needs. That being said, my values best align with Humanistic and Mindfulness approaches (such as Person Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and Narrative Therapy. I work from a trauma-informed lens and strongly believe in the power of compassion when it comes to healing. I strongly believe that every individual has their own unique life journey and the capacity for growth and healing. As we explore the complexities of your experience I will work with you to create a space that allows you to feel safe, supported, and validated. I believe that the relationship we have with our thoughts and distressing experiences is significant in shaping our identities and core beliefs. I feel that we can create meaning and new possibilities out of the underlying narrative of our lives.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I feel strongly about providing trauma-informed mental health care to individuals who are gender expansive and/or Autistic. My lived experience has shown me the importance of representation of gender expansive and Autistic people in spaces dominated by cis/heteronormativity and neurotypical expectations, especially within the field of mental healthcare. I first and foremost work from a social justice orientation, and I am primarily concerned with the client’s sense of safety and validation regarding issues of race, gender, sexuality, neurodivergence, and other key identity factors. Additionally, I have experience in working with disabled individuals and those living with chronic pain/illness. I am dedicated to continue unlearning my own internalized ableism and address ableist perspectives that dominate the narratives around disability.
