Damien has provided therapeutic interventions for people going through grief and loss, PTSD, anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict, and other barriers. He is an LGBTQ+ and trauma informed therapist.
My Background and Approach
I am a veteran and have experience in treating military trauma.I operate from a holistic approach to wellness. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing tools and techniques to help clients get the most out of therapy. I am also a Certified Advanced Grief Counselor. I know that your pain is valid. Grappling with heartbreak, betrayal, and loss comes with its expectable pain. Fortunately, it also spurs growth we aren’t capable of acquiring when we get “too comfortable.” If you're looking for a nonjudgmental therapist to sit with you in the discomfort while you grow in pursuit of your goals, I'm here for it. Also, currently training to be an EMDR certified therapist. As a social worker, I operate from the strengths perspective and the person in the environment perspective. This means I see you in your totality of your being.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe Black Lives Matter, I am a Veteran of combat, and I care deeply about people. We can often get lost in the enormity of the world and the effect that systems have on us as human beings. I know that navigating that is incredibly difficult. My story is not your story, but I’m willing to listen with an empathetic and competent ear.
