About My Clients
Whether one is suffering from depression, anxiety, grief and loss, unresolved trauma, or challenges in relationships, I am here to provide a non-judgmental space to explore these issues and foster personal growth. I understand that you are the expert in your life, and I am there to provide the support and feedback you need to address life’s challenges, identify barriers, explore solutions, and help you achieve your goals.
My Background and Approach
I work collaboratively with individuals and couples. I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I support clients in understanding how they define themselves in the context of their relationships. An individual’s ability to regulate emotions is based on their sense of connection to a loved one. When they feel disconnected, they experience loss, rejection and abandonment. When they are unable to express these hurt feelings, problems arise. I provide a safe space to help individuals and couples share these feelings and strengthen and repair their connections. I am also trained in EMDR. Utilizing this modality with my clients has been extremely rewarding. I help my clients process trauma and remove the blocks that prevent healing. In successful EMDR therapy, painful events become less triggering. The net effect is that clients conclude therapy feeling empowered by the very experiences that once caused them so much distress.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The enjoyment I experience from helping people stems from my passion for the human experience. I have always loved living in large cities because of the diversity they have to offer. As a New York City transplant, it took me a while to adapt to the sprawling landscape of Los Angeles. I understand how it can be lonely for some here, as it takes time to find your place. This is why inclusivity and openness is at the forefront of my work, helping others to not feel so alone and feel accepted for who they are.
