About My Clients
Men need help too. Are you struggling with big transitions in your life? Having difficulty calming intense emotions or just struggling to navigate the day to day? Life can be filled with challenges and disappointments that impact our state of mind, (our brain?), and our capacity to manage everyday tasks. If this is you, I would love to help you learn ways to understand and cope with these big and challenging moments. Therapy is a healing process and together we can process these challenges.
My Background and Approach
Dalton is a Limited License Mental Health Counselor who completed his M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at SUNY Oswego. Dalton is supervised Kylie Valent, LMHC. Dalton has experience working with adults in transitional stages in their lives. He aims to create a comfortable accepting environment for clients. Dalton focuses on a strength-based approach as well as using aspects from person-centered therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Dalton is passionate about working collaboratively with clients on their own personal goals and building upon themselves.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a licensed mental health counselor, I firmly believe in the inherent capacity for growth and change at any point in one's life. I do not believe there are limits to human potential. Mental health challenges often arise from learned behaviors that, over time, may become unhealthy patterns. The good news is that these behaviors can be unlearned, and healthier alternatives can be cultivated.
