About My Clients
Are you feeling overwhelmed by day-to-day life? Are there things from your past that are unresolved? Do you desire self-improvement but don’t know where to start? Starting where you are is the first step in every new journey. I want to help guide you on your journey by helping you to unlock your own inner power to make transformative changes in your life. This can sound overwhelming, but you don’t have to do this work alone. I take a client-centered approach by meeting you wherever you may be.
My Background and Approach
In my 7 years as a social worker, compassion and understanding have always been at the cornerstone of the work that I do with my clients. Our sessions will not be the exception to this. This along with evidence-based techniques will be the key to helping you identify and overcome the barriers in your life, currently. My primary goal in any therapeutic relationship is to build rapport with my clients. I want to get to know you so that I know how best to support you where you are. Earning your trust is another important goal. When sharing personal and private aspects of one’s life, trust is essential in the person feeling safe and validated. After each session, I want my clients to have felt heard and validated.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal belief is that everyone has the ability to live the life they envision for themselves. My goal as a therapist is to support that vision by empowering my clients and equipping them with the necessary tools to make positive changes in their lives. Therefore, I utilize a client-centered therapy approach with all of my clients by meeting them wherever they are in their lives. My own personal struggles with depression and anxiety have helped influence my decision to become a therapist. As an active participant in my own therapy, I’ve greatly benefited from the insight and clarity I’ve gained from my experience with my therapist. I hope that I am able to help provide a similar experience to my clients. My own life experiences have also made me an empathetic and open-minded clinician. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I also empathize with those struggling with struggling with issues surrounding their sexuality and identity.
