About My Clients
Many of the clients I work with are used to being “the strong one” in their relationships, families, workplaces, or communities. They often feel emotionally overwhelmed, mentally overloaded, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in unhealthy relational patterns that leave them exhausted. I work well with insight-oriented individuals, couples, and families who are ready to better understand themselves, strengthen boundaries, improve relationships, and move toward more intentional ways of living.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Georgia and the founder of Rooted in Real Wellness. My work is grounded in psychodynamic and family systems approaches, which means I help clients explore the deeper emotional, relational, and generational patterns contributing to current struggles rather than only focusing on surface-level symptoms. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, relationship stress, emotional overload, communication issues, family conflict, self-abandonment, life transitions, & the pressure of constantly feeling responsible for others. Many of my clients are high-functioning people who appear to “have it together” externally while internally feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, resentful, or disconnected from themselves. My approach is honest, relational, & insight-oriented. I value creating a space where clients can slow down, process openly, increase self-awareness, & make intentional changes that align with who they truly want to be.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a Black therapist, much of my work is rooted in helping individuals, couples, and families better understand how relational patterns, family dynamics, stress, survival roles, and generational experiences shape the way we move through life and relationships today. I deeply value emotional honesty, intentional living, healthy boundaries, and creating spaces where people feel safe enough to be real about what they’ve been carrying. I am especially passionate about supporting Black women and Black families as they navigate the pressures of constantly having to “hold it all together” while also honoring the strength, resilience, culture, and history that shaped them. I believe healing is not about pretending the past didn’t impact us — it’s about understanding those experiences, breaking unhealthy cycles, and creating healthier ways of relating to ourselves and each other moving forward.
