About My Clients
I help people who have *always* dealt with anxiety, but haven't figured out how to DEAL or resolve it for the long term. Many of these people have undiagnosed ADHD, and haven't had proper support or recognition for this other part of them. It can be tricky to tease out what is what, and that's where I come in. I take a whole-person approach. Because anxiety is such a buzzword and can have so many different meanings, together we'll figure out what exactly is affecting you. Looking forward to it!
My Background and Approach
I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to support clients in reaching their therapy goals. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy was developed and popularized by author Steven Hayes, Phd author of Get out of Your Mind and Into Your Life, and reached further public awareness by authors like Russ Harris, Phd author of The Happiness Trap. This approach has helped me figure out what's important in life. I love that I can use real examples of how the psychological flexibility model impacts my life in such a positive way. It can make it more real and not just some theory. I take this approach seriously. I continually engage with new developments in the field, and thoughtfully apply them to my practice. Seeing immediate shifts in people I work with is so energizing. Humans are truly miraculous. I hope you find the therapist that takes you seriously too. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in our humanity. I believe we all have the power to make safe, respectful choices. I don't ignore the ills of the world, but I do look for the helpers, the fighters, the underlying compassion and care that is at the core of each person.
