About My Clients

I work with those who seek to heal from the impact of sexual trauma and traumatic relationships in childhood and adulthood. I support clients who experience anxiety, depression, dissociation, and struggles with attachment and relationships. I also partner with clients who strive to understand and heal the emotional and somatic impact of living through racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, classism, xenophobia, ableism, fatphobia, and other oppressive systems.

My Background and Approach

I approach therapy from a place of deep and non-judgmental curiosity, seeking to explore and understand each client's unique experiences, strengths, identities, and challenges. My therapeutic practice is based on the feminist relational model, which shapes my two core beliefs about therapy. The first is that clients have the tools they need to heal and my job is to partner with them and empower them to learn how to use those tools. The second is that the unique relationship between therapist and client can provide an enormous source of healing and growth. I also draw from Internal Family Systems concepts to help clients understand how they were shaped by traumatic experiences, how different strengths and strategies allowed them to survive, and how those strategies might change to better fit the lives they are now living.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone deserves the support and healing that can happen in a connected and non-judgmental relationship. I am motivated to do this work by a commitment to social justice, and the knowledge that our experiences of trauma are tied to systemic oppression and marginalization. I am committed to lifelong learning so that I can to better ally with communities of color, disabled folks, and other people who experience marginalization that I do not due to privilege. I also believe in the power of laughter and pleasure. I work with clients to help them connect with joy as much as understand their pain and help them find ways for those experiences coexist when pain cannot be avoided. If I sound like a good fit for the work you would like to do, please reach out to find out more about working together, insurance, and scheduling.
