About My Clients
I work with autistic, ADHD, PDA, and otherwise neurodivergent people ages 10 and up, plus the parents raising them. Late-diagnosed adults who spent years masking are especially welcome. If you're dealing with burnout, overwhelm, big feelings, or the whole "figuring out adulthood" thing, you're in the right place. Nobody here needs to be fixed or trained to act "normal."
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate practicing under the clinical supervision of Lauren Hawkins, LPC-S. I hold a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Education in Counseling from Lamar University. My approach is strengths-based and neuro-affirming, never compliance-based. I draw on DBT and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to build practical skills and focus on what's already working, and I treat your special interests as a way in, not a distraction. I offer in-person sessions in Nacogdoches and telehealth across Texas.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that neurodivergent clients deserve neurodivergent therapists. Being understood shouldn't require a 20-minute explanation of how your brain works to a therapist who quietly wishes you'd just try harder. I believe that you aren't broken; you just human differently. Masking isn't a personality trait, compliance isn't the same as progress, and "just push through it" has never once healed a burned-out brain. Your special interests are strengths worth building on, and the best therapy happens when you have a real say in how it goes. I also believe that therapy can be low-pressure, a little funny, and still meaningful. Bring your whole self: the stimming, the tangents, the infodump. All of it is welcome here.
