Do you find yourself constantly fighting with negative beliefs and critical thoughts playing through your head like a soundtrack? Trauma is often at the root of our depressive or anxious responses to the world. Some traumas are big and obvious, like a violent crime or a sudden loss, while others may look more like death by a thousand tiny cuts, the daily traumatic interactions of living with someone who was abusive, narcissistic, or neglectful.
My Background and Approach
I can offer you specialized therapy that can help you heal the triggers and wounds that affect your daily functioning. I help my clients with the effects of trauma, which may include anxiety, grief, panic, and depressive symptoms. Toxic relationships, such as those with narcissistic abuse or codependency, can both cause trauma and be a symptom of prior trauma that continues to repeat itself in cycles. In order to break these cycles, we need to find safety, learn more about the patterns and cycles we have been perpetuating, and heal the wounds that keep us going back to unhealthy people. As an EMDR Certified therapist, I will help you identify the traumas and moments that have shaped your life and belief systems, and then target the specific memories and beliefs that are affecting your ability to heal and move forward. EMDR allows us to help your brain make connections and heal more quickly than it can do on its own or even with traditional talk therapy.
