About My Clients

Do you often feel overwhelmed by your emotions? Do you find it hard to connect with others and wonder if you're capable of long-term relationships? I understand how challenging it is to navigate intense feelings like sadness, anxiety, shame, and anger and how it can get in the way of your relationships. Together, we'll work to make sense of your experiences, explore how things came to be, and develop more effective ways moving forward.

My Background and Approach

I specialize in helping young adults with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and trauma. I use psychodynamic, DBT, and trauma-informed therapies, including Internal Family Systems and somatic approaches. This means we may work on processing relational experiences, building mindful awareness of your emotions and thoughts, and developing new tools to manage your distress. I am also passionate about helping BIPOC navigate identity-related issues and cross-cultural conflict. As a neurodiversity-affirming therapist, I value the unique ways people’s minds work and will help you develop skills that work for your individual needs.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a Chinese American child of immigrants, I understand many of the unique challenges related to BIPOC and immigrant families, including discrimination, bicultural identity, cross-cultural issues, and family conflict. I am deeply invested in social justice and collective liberation, and recognize that our healing is inextricably linked to our broader contexts, including the conditions of our family, community, and Earth. I won't encourage you to simply adapt to oppression. Instead, I believe that our struggles are often natural responses to abnormal conditions, guiding us to see how things are not all right. I'll help you listen to your instincts and strengths. Our sessions can be a place where you can vent and rest, or where we can develop a plan. Together, we’ll work toward building the conditions necessary for you to thrive.
