About My Clients

I have a special place in my heart for working with mothers in their postpartum period as well as in the field of early childhood. I see people across the lifespan as well, and truly enjoy working with my patients. My areas of expertise include ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Childhood emotional and behavioral concerns, families as well as perinatal therapy.

My Background and Approach

I work with clients struggling with anxiety and depression. I have expertise in child/adolescent counseling, and perinatal mood disorders. When we meet I will ask questions to get a sense of what's going on, often starting with "What's bringing you in?". From there, we will discuss diagnoses and potential focus for treatment. I am patient led and will gently challenge when necessary. I often like to pull from various modalities to help address the client's concerns. I utilize a blend of both skill-based therapy and taking a "deeper dive" to understand what may or may not be contributing to the clients' area of difficulty. A fair amount of psycho-education is also provided, the point being to understand ourselves more so that we can stop the cycle of blame and shame.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a counselor, my personal philosophy is rooted in attachment theory, which frames much of human behavior as a reflection of our innate desire for connection and our simultaneous efforts to avoid pain. I believe that our coping strategies—whether adaptive or maladaptive—are deeply influenced by core beliefs we hold about ourselves, others, and the world around us. These patterns do not emerge in isolation; rather, they are shaped by our past experiences, current environments, and the broader societal systems in which we live. I hold a firm conviction that people are capable of meaningful change, and that transformation becomes possible when individuals gain deeper self-awareness and are equipped with the right tools and support. My role as a counselor is to walk alongside clients as they uncover these insights, challenge limiting beliefs, and cultivate healthier ways of relating both to themselves and others.
