Feeling stuck or not in control are common struggles. I am here to tell you that you are capable of breaking negative cycles. You can change the way you handle anxiety, overthinking, emotional reactivity and resulting relationship issues. The first step is understanding why you act in ways that often seem counterproductive to happiness. The truth is you have very good reasons for why you do what you do AND you are also capable of growth, change and happiness.
My Background and Approach
Initially a social worker at Mount Sinai Hospital helping patients and their families struggling with illness, surgery and recovery, I learned the importance of treating individuals as members of a family system. When I decided to become a private practice therapist, I enrolled in a 2 year advanced training program in Families and Couples at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. I am constantly educating myself on evidence based interventions so that I can be the most effective therapist I can be. I approach every client differently based on their unique personality, history and desires but what I ALWAYS provide is warmth, compassion, and a judgement free space to discuss anything and everything. I place a great deal of focus on setting achievable short-term goals in addition to larger long-term goals because nothing feels better than making and keeping promises to yourself.
