My Background and Approach
Here’s the deaI, it's a hard time to be alive. Sometimes our stories are full of holes. Sometimes we've got more questions than we do answers. I respect how hard it is to ask for support, and I take seriously the trust you place in me. I’m committed to showing up fully so our time together is focused, meaningful, and supportive of real change. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have previously worked as a crisis therapist in hospital settings. In my previous professional roles I have supported all kinds of people navigating a diversity of issues. Opening up my private practice was a very intentional change. I am grateful beyond words to be able to support my clients without the pressure of pre-determined timelines or someone else's defined outcome.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a queer, married person that doesn't like the binary (for myself). I am a parent; and all those degrees in child development did not prepare me for the 'humbling' that parenting brings. I feel like being a therapist today has to be something that is more valuable than all that is available online and via social platforms. I believe that where we start our stories makes all the difference and much of my job is bearing witness to your story. I am honest that the rapid growth of fascist ideals and actions is scary and that there are no hacks for how to survive these times. I am only certain that we must do this together in community.
