About My Clients

My Background and Approach
I completed my BA at Smith College, then continued on to Johns Hopkins University where I earned a Bachelors and Masters in Nursing, and in 2002 I began my career as a nurse practitioner. I later studied population health at Quinnipiac University where I completed my Doctorate in Nursing Practice. I completed the CT Acupuncture Certification Program, Reiki I & II Certifications, and continually pursue professional education specific to caring for the trans community and holistic nursing practices. After a thorough assessment of your concerns, we will develop a treatment plan together to meet your needs best. Our plans may include prescription medication, natural medicines, or mind-body therapies such as acupuncture (when we can meet in person), mindfulness-based stress reduction, and aromatherapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am very excited to merge my professional and personal passions through my private practice, bringing together my love for nursing and for the LGBTQ+ community. I identify as pansexual and am a member of TransPACT- a local support group for parents of transgender and gender non conforming children. I have led and participated in a number of local and nationwide efforts in support of the LGBTQ+ community, including "Your Holiday Mom", organizing a community holiday dinner for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults, and leading my faith community toward open and affirming designation. I live with my husband, two children, Dad, and my fur babies, Chihuahua “Buffy” and Mini Schnauzer “Daphne.” I enjoy learning new things, electronic dance music, mindfulness meditation, cooking, and immersing in the awesome beauty of nature to recharge and restore.
