About My Clients
You’re here because you want to further explore your relationship with yourself, or you want to heal from your traumatic experiences, or have relational issues that need care and attention. Folks tend to seek me out for help with Complex Trauma, Anxiety, Self-Esteem issues, Relationships, Family of Origin issues, and more. Whatever it might be, there’s space for you here. Welcome!
My Background and Approach
As a therapist, I believe that trauma-informed care is understanding the nuances to each person’s lived experience. It means understanding the intersectionality of our identities and how our body responds to trauma. On this journey, I commit myself to fostering an inclusive & safe space that honors each person’s unique identities, and brings our humanness back into the room. This space is for folks who want to heal from relational wounds and trauma. We may not get to choose the pain that we inherit, but we can make the decision to heal from it. I also recognize that to identify as cisgender and be in a heterosexual, monogamous relationship, is to experience cisgender privilege. I acknowledge that LGBTQIA2S+ individuals who choose to work with me are doing so with deep trust and I do not take that for granted. I commit to professional development that is rooted in racial, gender, sexuality, and disability justice in order to provide safety to those who are in need of it.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Unearthed Psychotherapy is all about helping individuals reclaim space, reconnect back to their innate selves, and learning the valuable tools they need to navigate life’s transitions. I believe that it is the responsibility of the therapist to acknowledge the social and cultural implications of our experiences to better understand how we are impacted by oppressive systems.
