About My Clients
I serve clients struggling with communication, resentment and trust building, particularly after an affair. I also help individuals and couples who are looking to improve their sexual relationship, those who have difficulties with desire, arousal or orgasm, and those struggling with anxiety or difficulties related to negative sexual experiences in their past. Exploration of sexuality, open relationships/nonmonogamy, and LGBTQ+ issues are also the clients who have found improvement while with me.
My Background and Approach
I offer my clients education and tools to achieve the goals they are looking for. You’ll complete assessments at the beginning of our time that are backed by the Gottman method, a type of couples therapy that is backed by decades of research and is found to predict outcomes to relationship and intervene to improve them. When we work together, you will learn to improve communication, understand the cycles that contribute to why you are not where you want to be now, and create changes to make a new, healthy cycle. We’ll identify what your strengths and challenges are and any longstanding beliefs that are impacting how you’re engaging as well as identify how to use these to our advantage. I give homework regularly and my goal is to get you out of therapy so that you can live with the fulfilling, satisfactory life and relationships you are looking for. I’m straightforward and I use humor in session as therapy is hard enough as it is and you feeling comfortable is my priority.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’ve worked in a variety of environments, from psychiatric hospitals to schools to private practice, and have been fortunate to learn and experience many aspects that impact and reinforced my value set. I am an ally to both LGBTQ+ and POC communities, and am sex/kink positive.
