About My Clients
If you are experiencing a faith crisis or going through a faith transition, I can help you navigate the trauma and stages of grief that often accompany a faith crisis (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance). I can help you recognize and create healthy boundaries, strengthen relationships with spouse and children, and reinforce the family foundation by building communication, commitment, core values, and mutual respect.
My Background and Approach
I have nearly 20 years of social work experience. As a former member of the Mormon faith, I have a wealth of insight navigating the challenging journey of a faith transition. Often, our entire identities are based on our religious beliefs. During a faith crisis, it feels like the foundation of your life is crumbling underneath you. Feelings of depression, anger, and anxiety are common. You don't need to face this challenge alone. I use a variety of evidence-based modalities to help you heal and grow, including EMDR and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have a firm belief in the power and effectiveness of therapy! I know how difficult and intimidating it can sometimes feel to make contact with a new therapist. My goal is to create a warm, supportive environment where you feel safe to work through life's challenges. I am passionate about helping people overcome adversity, and teaching tools for building trauma into post-traumatic growth.
