About My Clients

I specialize in treating current or former athletes of all ages and sports that are struggling with anxiety, poor confidence, slumps, mental blocks, life, and college transitions. Some of the athletes I work with struggle with bouncing back after mistakes, get caught up in their own thoughts and worries and experience mental blocks that keep them from performing at their peak. I also work with athletes whose life outside the game is starting to interrupt the way they perform and feel.

My Background and Approach

My passion for helping athletes comes from knowing what it feels like to love stepping onto the field, court, or track. The feeling of importance, community, and pride. The support I had in slumps, in the politics, and in the injuries that tried to push me off course. The frustration of holding onto mistakes, or things coaches said to me and the pressures I placed on myself to be the best. For so many athletes the love of the game is no longer there. The confidence they used to show up with has turned into doubt and worry. The struggles they face, the politics that happen, and the injuries they endure can leave them feeling like they are failures, disappointments, and, alone. Sports counseling is a specialized field of work in which I am concerned with the well-being, mental functioning, and physical performance of athletes. Your well-being is more important to me than what the scoreboard says.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Athletes are a part of a "failure is not an option" culture. The hardest part is understanding that failure is a part of success. Being an athlete can be a wonderful experience but it can also put unimaginable pressures and stress on you. I want to help athletes, who don't feel enough, believe they have to perfect and manage the symptoms they experience. I accept you as you are and where you are when you come in. I love sports, animals, and anything on the water. I have two really hairy Australian Shepherds named Aspen and Huxley that like to hop on my online sessions and say hi from time to time.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
