About My Clients
Are you overwhelmed with the demands of all your responsibilities? Are you building a career and perhaps also want a family and you aren't sure how to navigate both? Are you in recovery from drugs, alcohol, or a harmful behavior? Have the struggles of the entertainment industry, or the pressure of being an athlete or student/athlete become too much to face alone? I understand all of this, and want to help you navigate your life as a whole. Together we can figure it out!
My Background and Approach
I have a Master of Clinical Social Work degree from Loyola University Chicago with a minor in Addiction Counseling and have worked with people in early recovery, guiding them through shame, self-acceptance, creating routines of self-care, and breaking the old patterns that lead to old behaviors. My empathy and compassion offer a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment and safe space in which to open up and share your journey and subsequent emotional experiences. I've also worked as a TV writer, navigating the entertainment industry. I now work with people who are building and working to sustain a creative career that involves uncertainty, the ability to budget for indefinite times of hiatus between seasons or jobs, and the management of anxiety. I also play volleyball and used to coach, so I understand the plight of an athlete, and of a student/athlete. I counsel young people through the balance of school and athletics, and the struggles of being a teenager and young adult.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
One aspect of my purpose is social justice, believing that everyone deserves equal rights. I support the Black Lives Matter movement, I support every member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and I believe every human being deserves kindness, compassion, empathy, and understanding.
