About My Clients
I enjoy working with all types of clients and most commonly work with adolescents and young adults. Often my clients seek help because they are feeling stuck, hopeless, or want to stop digging towards that rock bottom. They know this isn't the life they want for themselves but they don't know what to do about it. I help people who are facing a number of concerns such as stress, substance abuse, trauma, depression, or conflicts in relationships to find calmness amidst the storms.
My Background and Approach
I approach the therapeutic relationship as a partnership. I will journey along side you, wherever you are at on that journey, and provide support, compassion, honesty, and even a little humor to keep you moving towards your goals. I will help you navigate a path through all the turmoil so you can find peace even when your world is turned upside down. I have been in the field of counseling since 2016 with an emphasis on trauma, adolescents, and substance abuse. I take a trauma informed approach to therapy which means that you determine the speed and depth in which you are ready to go, and I guide accordingly.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I firmly believe people do their best with the skills and resources they have available to them. However not everyone starts out with the same skills and resources in life and this can often lead to feeling inadequate or not enough. It is my experience that much distress comes from not recognizing what is and what isn't in our control. I am passionate about helping people to understand how their lived experiences impact their day to day life and help them overcome false narratives that get in the way of their happiness and well being.
