My Background and Approach
Corri Inouye (she, her) received her M.A. in Expressive Arts Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, CA. Her undergraduate work focused on child & adolescent development, atypical child studies, and social justice. In practicum, Corri supported students in grades TK-8 through an arts-based school re-entry program, a social-emotional learning program, and individual counseling. She applies over twenty years of experience working with children and families in education, social services, and the mental health sectors to meet the needs of her clients. Corri incorporates the expressive arts because of its multimodal, flexible, and nurturing approach to the counseling setting. Before her graduate work, Corri spent several years teaching project-based curriculum and introducing the trauma-informed approach to the early education environment. She has a strong interest in educating clients about the body’s response to stress, trauma, and substance use.
