About My Clients
I often work with those who are healing from traumatic events or difficult life transitions. Some of these events include physical or sexual assault, abusive relationships, social isolation, grief, or difficult life transitions like coming out or becoming estranged from your family. When provided with a nurturing environment, these times can usher in some of our greatest growth. I will help you seize control of your narrative so healing and empowerment are possible.
My Background and Approach
My ideology is humanistic so I work on highlighting overall well being and resilience and understand mental illness does not exist in a vacuum. Because of this I challenge stigmas regarding treatment and accept clients who come as they are. I work under the belief that recovering from deep hurt and persistent symptoms includes addressing past trauma and incorporating the mind-body connection. I facilitate psychosomatic healing in sessions through the use of mindfulness, grounding techniques, neurofeedback, and heart rate coherence training. I also use traditional psychotherapy to help you achieve a healthy mindset, a positive self image, and diminished anxiety levels so you can feel at peace with yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I place an emphasis on your autonomy and right to decide what your healing process is going to look like: we are all complex individuals and one-size-therapy does not fit all. Together we can work on what you choose is important any given week. I have experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals and am affirmative of diverse orientations, gender identities and relationship styles. As a member of the community, I understand the importance of taking time to explore who you are and navigate the meaning of these things in a safe space. I also have worked with individuals from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds and work to be conscious of letting you set your own definition of success and well-being.
