As an African American Male, Corey asserts that the therapeutic alliance is key in therapy and works to ensure that clients feel heard, understood, safe, and supported throughout the therapeutic process.
My Background and Approach
Corey primarily specializes in anxiety, mood, conduct, and substance abuse disorders. He has learned and practiced spiritual integration via Regent University’s specialized master’s program to aid clients interested in exploring those avenues. He utilizes interventions such as motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, processing content/emotions, exploring worldviews/perceptions, cognitive restructuring, journaling, role-playing, bibliotherapy, empathic confrontation, and more.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Corey identifies as a non-denominational Christian, utilizing unconditional positive regard with all clients he comes into contact with.
