My ideal client is simple: I enjoy working most with someone who is motivated and engaged in the process of counseling. I work with individuals only, from 16 years old and up.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works from a trauma-informed, cognitive behavioral therapy model and specializes in addiction.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is the modality most heavily focused on from an academic standpoint, but is also the modality that aligns best with my view of how effective counseling should occur. I have been trained in, and worked from, a CBT background since the moment I began counseling.
I have trained extensively in motivational interviewing and other behavioral modalities to help individuals address not only the behavioral issues related to addiction and substance use, but the root causes that fuel them. I have worked in two separate in-patient drug rehabilitation facilities before transitioning to private practice, therefore I have several years of experience working with this population.
