Hello my name is Coresair Mack and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Elgin, IL
In between my crisis and trauma certificate, working in an inpatient crisis facility for almost two years and working with other individuals during my time as a clinician, I have gained a lot of experience helping out clients that are stuck in domestic or intimate partner violence.
Over the years since I was a counselor. I worked with a lot of clients who have been abused in different ways. I started my work during my internship and continued that through many years of experience. In every job, I have worked with and helped clients who have experienced abuse.
Over the years that I have been working, I helped out a lot of clients who have been experiencing depression. During my internship and afterwards in every job that I had since 2017, I have helped clients who have felt depressed and suicidal.
CBT is a therapeutic intervention that is at my core. I have been utilizing CBT since my practicum in 2015. Over the years I have worked with clients, obtained CEUs, did my own research on more evidenced based practices to help out different clients with CBT. I utilize this to help challenge client's thought processes, reframe situations and obtain a new outlook on different situations and present a new way of thinking about different situations.
I received my certificate in crisis and trauma work from my masters program. Ever since I utilized and refined my trauma focused therapy over the years, especially working in an inpatient crisis facility. I learned that everything can be considered traumatic to an individual and to be non judgmental as well as provide a non judgmental space for the client to express their trauma.
I have utilized solution focused therapy and solution focused brief therapy a lot. This I have utilized during my internship and in every place i've worked. I receive CEU's for this anytime it's offered and researched evidence based practices for this as well. This is a great tool to help clients identify solutions based on their own strengths/things they are good at. This also helps develop autonomy, due to seeing the power inside themselves all along.
