We all get hit with big life changes that we were not prepared for. Adjusting to them can absolutely be a struggle. My role is to help you adjust and make needed changes. This can be anything from becoming an adult to the gaining or losing of a job to suffering a significant loss in life. Having someone to talk to about your thoughts and feelings that has some distance from you allows you to process more clearly.
I have provided counseling to help individuals and families recover from addiction to drugs and alcohol in individual and group settings, inpatient and outpatient facilities, from lowest intervention to intensive outpatient treatment. I have been providing these services for the last 10 years working with jails, probation officers, Safety Councils for DUI monitoring, and individuals seeking further support in processing their addiction and strengthening their recovery long term.
Over the last 15 years, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults working on learning about their anger and the aggressive behaviors they engage in when angry. I work with clients to recognize their anger at earlier signs, learn coping skills to help reduce the anger through each level, and new and better ways to address the anger so they can eliminate the problematic behaviors.
