About My Clients
I work with individuals aged 18+ with a focus on 20-30 'somethings'. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and I work with those struggling with trauma, relational concerns, life transitions, substance use, eating and body image concerns and those just seeking greater understanding of themselves.
My Background and Approach
I believe my clients are the best experts on their own lives and work from a compassion focused, collaborative approach utilizing effective evidence based approaches to best meet your needs. I completed my Master's in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Couples and Family Therapy at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. Moving to San Francisco after grad school, I have had the privilege of working in diverse community based settings, intensive treatment programs and in government organizations honing my skills to work with a broad range of clients. Additionally, I became involved in Compassion Focused Therapy and the movement for compassion while working with the Heroic Imagination Project - the passionate culmination of the life work of Dr. Philip Zimbardo creating and inspiring Everyday Heroism utilizing decades of research on human behavior and tendencies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal journey led me to engaging in intensive psychotherapy that transformed my way of existing in this world. I feel honored and deeply humbled by the journey each client brings into the room. I seek to empower not just the individual but to build strong, thriving community that can sustain and support these journeys. I welcome clients to show up exactly as they are in that given moment; in joy, in pain, in suffering, in transition. The act of being human is sometimes messy and flawed and also filled with imagination, creativity, and beauty.
