About My Clients
I work with transgender, non-binary, queer, and two-spirit ADHDers, supporting you in gently releasing the barriers that keep you from deeper connection—with yourself, with others, and with the more-than-human world. I offer nature-based therapy to individual adults and teens in sbəqʷábs (colonially named Seward Park). I also offer the Safe and Sound Protocol—in person and online—for people of all ages, including young children, to restore pathways of connection.
My Background and Approach
Nature-Based Therapy embraces the healing power of your connection with the more-than-human world, where the vibrant, living ecosystem co-holds the therapeutic process. Most of my clients are ADHDers, and many note that nature-based sessions enhance their ability to focus and be present. The spacious and grounding context of the forest on the lake can support your capacity to engage with and heal internal experiences that may feel overwhelming in other settings—all while offering the added mental health benefits that come naturally from spending an hour outside. To help you access the freedom and connection that is your birthright, I integrate Nature-Based Therapy with Treating Internalized Oppression framework, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Somatics, Witchcraft, Family Systems Therapy, Brainspotting, Play Therapy, and Polyvagal Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My practice is deeply rooted in the wisdom of Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), which teaches us to compassionately understand our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and feelings as a response to systemic wounding and protection rather than as the result of pathology. We will work within your inner world by honoring and collaborating with your body’s protective system rather than fighting or overriding it. IFS invites the practices of deep witnessing, trust-building, nurturing, and self-attunement (the relational practices of safety and love) to help us feel whole and free. The Treating Internalized Oppression framework (TIO) is the over-arching framework I use to map therapy. I understand that oppression is trauma and that the ways we internalize oppression cause suffering in our lives, bodies, and communities. TIO guides me in helping people heal from oppression’s internalized impacts.
