About My Clients
I work with adults, adolescents, and parents navigating a wide range of concerns: anxiety, depression, grief and loss, shame, trauma, identity questions, relationship struggles, and challenges at school or work. I also support people experiencing isolation, alienation, stigma, or a persistent sense of disconnection in their lives. As a second-generation Korean American, I bring a culturally grounded perspective to therapy. Many of my clients are Asian American, BIPOC, LGBTQIA2+, or identify wit
My Background and Approach
Hi—I’m Dr. Connie Kim-Gervey, and I offer therapy that centers you: your story, your pace, your hopes, and your needs. I believe real growth happens when we feel safe enough to be honest—with ourselves and with someone else. My role is to create that kind of space: one where you can bring your full self, without judgment, and where we can work together to understand what’s getting in the way of the life you want to live. My approach is relational, collaborative, and rooted in deep respect for you, the client, as the expert. I draw from emotionally focused therapy, brainspotting, mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral theory, internal family systems theory, cultural-relational frameworks, and attachment-based work. I also help clients explore how systems—like workplace culture, family dynamics, or broader social expectations—shape their experiences, and how to navigate those systems with clarity and self-trust.
