About My Clients
I Am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor. I treat everyone with respect, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing or labeling. I serve an array of multicultural clients, ranging in age from 18 and beyond. My counseling style is interactive, and eclectic. I have specialty certifications and/or experience in a variety of areas including anxiety, anger management, telemental health, depression, personal development coaching, mentoring, and more.
My Background and Approach
I Am an effective leader, counselor, consultant, wellness speaker, supervisor, and educator with a passion for teaching people how to see the glass as REFILLABLE with endless possibilities, instead of half full or half empty. After 14+ years of providing Mental/Behavior Health Treatment in an agency setting, I decided to open my own private practice- Cayco Effex, LLC in Monroe, Louisiana in 2020 so that I could help clients Individually, not just to meet agency quotas. I have a natural gift for empowering individual clients, families, and staff to accomplish mental health, wellness, and personal goals. I also believe in the value of education. I received a Master of Education degree in School, Community & Substance Abuse Counseling from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, A Master of Science in Human Service Administration Degree from Spertus College, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Jackson State University.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The counseling experience is unique for each person and the essence of who I am as a counselor is centered on helping Y-O-U learn to feel comfortable being your authentic self. Society’s conditioning says color inside the lines.... but why not scribble on a blank canvas and create your own lines? My goal is to empower YOU to redefine all-or-nothing thinking, to stop looking for perfection, and to embrace a 'Butterfly' state of mind. How can you do that? Through Counseling, Enlightening and Achieving Mental Clarity and FREEDOM---One Small Change at A Time.
