I provide therapy for children who have experienced forms of abuse, including domestic violence, physical/sexual/emotional abuse, and human trafficking. I work often with families raising kids who can exhibit challenging behaviors. I am certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy.

I specialize in Trauma & Interpersonal Violence. I am specially trained to work with survivors of domestic violence or intimate partner violence, and have done so my entire career. When facing a partner’s violence, power, and control, it’s important to be working with a therapist who understands the dangers, risks, and volatility of the situation. I provide safe, confidential, and trauma-informed care.

I specialize in Trauma and Interpersonal Violence. I’ve worked my entire career with children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced trauma and abuse. I am trained in several treatment modalities to meet the needs of those who have experience traumatic events. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child-Centered Play Therapy, and Child-Parent Psychotherapy. I work closely with caregivers of children who have experienced trauma to provide support and psychoeducation.

As infants and children, our relationships with our primary caregivers serve as a template for our future relationships. How our needs were met (or not) inform how we try to get our needs met in relationships today. Understanding how we relate and connect with others can be extremely helpful and important. This biological and relational lens informs how I approach a client’s expressed challenges in their everyday lives with others.

I work often with children and families. I provide dyadic work (with a child and their caregiver) often to address challenges in their relationships, their families, and their behaviors. I am fully trained in two such treatments, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and Child-Parent Psychotherapy. Both treatments require the participation of kids and their caregivers to reach resolutions that help the family move forward together.

Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) is an evidence-based therapeutic intervention.Play is the natural language of children, and a child's play reveals their life experiences and gives voice to feelings and thoughts associated with these events. A child’s emotional world presents as repeated patterns/themes in play. Coping strategies are expressed in play, as well as a child's wishes and needs for resolution. This is a journey that moves at the child's pace without any influences from the outside.
