About My Clients
Clients have appreciation for my "realness" and genuineness; relatability (we are all cultural beings with emotions, thoughts and experiences); knowledge and experience; empathic directness; balance of support and challenge; calming presence; and humor. For 10+ yrs I have provided mental health services and coaching to diverse adult populations with focus on adjustment and life transitions, mood disorders, family dynamics, relationships, POC, disordered eating, and performance psychology.
My Background and Approach
My background is in Counseling Psychology rather than Clinical Psychology by choice due to the additional focus on social justice, community psychology, and prevention. My approach is integrative and considers client, cultural identities, presenting concerns and is always collaborative with balance of support and challenge.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
By taking care of our mental health, we are better able to mange the ups, downs and turns in life and improve our functioning and life satisfaction. Fortunately, there is an increasing awareness of the importance of connection in order to achieve and maintain health and this includes sharing with and listening to others.
