About My Clients
I know it's a big deal to reach out to a new counselor. My hope is to provide you with a safe environment to explore how your lived experiences have impacted you and may be directing your beliefs, actions, and relationships. I love to work with clients on issues including self-worth, anxiety, stress, life transitions, family of origin issues, and people affected by divorce or family changes. My clients range from college-aged individuals, adults, and premarital couples.
My Background and Approach
I have a background in the nonprofit sector, working on Young Life staff in Michigan, California, and Indiana before becoming a School Counselor. These experiences allowed me to work with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences before entering the world of private practice counseling. Many wise mentors and counselors have shepherded me into healing and I am honored you would consider letting me do the same for you. I utilize many theories, often pulling from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Story Work, solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed care. I have received training in Narrative Focused Trauma Care from The Allender Center at The Seattle School of Psychology & Theology as well as The Gottman Institute.
