About My Clients

I provide therapy to individuals and assist them in developing a greater sense of self during times of transition and self-reflection. The future is a scary notion and the automatic thoughts we have about ourselves and the world can lead us to feel less confident in the decisions we make for ourselves. We can work together to acknowledge thought patterns we have about ourselves and cultivate mindsets that lead to a meaningful future and content present.

My Background and Approach

My goal for the individuals that I work with is to find peace with their past, accepting of their present and hope for the future. The world moves at such a fast pace and it is often hard to take steps back and recognize how we ended up where we currently are. The beliefs that we hold about ourselves have been shaped over many years through our experiences and the relationships with the people in their lives. Within therapy, addressing our thoughts, feelings and behaviors can help us understand specific thoughts we have directed at certain situations, how they make us feel about ourselves and the behaviors that follow. We discuss how these patterns have been shaped and work towards developing alternative mindsets that help achieve the goals we set for ourselves and improve our outlook on life.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As individuals we associate certain emotions such as happiness and joy to be positive emotions while feeling sad or depressed as negative. However, while we all want to feel happy in our lives, there are times that we feel sad and the hardest thing to accept is that is okay. In my own personal life and in the work with my clients, I believe that the most powerful antidote to the sadness we feel is to confront those feelings and acknowledging that they will pass. Confront in order to transcend. We all have developed strategies to cope with our emotions and ways in which I do this in my personal life is running and meditation. I am a big believer in putting stress on our bodies in the form of running or lifting weights helps to mitigate the stress that we feel in our mind and body. In our work together, we can find what strategies work best for you and how to incorporate them into your life.
