About My Clients
I work with children, adolescents, and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional regulation. I am especially passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, trauma survivors, and those experiencing self-harm urges or suicidal ideation. I enjoy helping clients better understand themselves, build coping skills, and feel more confident navigating life's challenges. I also value collaborating with caregivers when appropriate to support growth beyond the therapy room.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Case Western Reserve University, specializing in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. My experience includes outpatient therapy, crisis support, school-based mental health, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, and sexual assault crisis support. My approach is person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), somatic interventions, and therapeutic play, tailoring sessions to each client's needs and developmental stage. I believe therapy should be collaborative and individualized, helping clients understand emotions, develop coping skills, process difficult experiences, and build meaningful change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone deserves to feel safe, accepted, and understood. I strive to create an inclusive, affirming space where clients can be themselves without fear of judgment. I believe people are more than their diagnoses or past experiences, and everyone has strengths to build upon. I believe some children simply need additional support as they learn to navigate the world. Behavior is communication, and it is our job to understand what children are communicating through their actions, teach them more productive ways to express their needs and ask for help, and provide the skills they need to succeed. Rather than expecting children to know skills they have not yet learned, I believe in meeting them where they are and helping them grow. I believe healing is not linear and growth does not require perfection. Meaningful change begins with connection, compassion, and the opportunity to learn and grow without judgment.
