My Background and Approach
I believe that healing can best take place within a calm safe realationship. My clients describe me as calming, approachable, validating, and willing to give feedback. I have over thirty years of clinical experience helping adults navigate major life transitions. After earning a PhD in Counseling Psychology I worked in college counseling centers for years before opening a private practice. I provide evidence-based treatments to address mental health struggles for adults 18 and older. I value continued learning and do my best to stay abreast of research to make sure I am providing the most up to date and effective care. I believe collaborative relationships are healing and will take time to listen to you to make sure we are on the same page about what you want to get out of therapy. Whether we are working to help you find a calm body, changing your thoughts or helping you manage painful emotions, my goal is that you feel more capable of living your life after our time together.

I believe it is possible to create a life of meaning and purpose, and am passionate about helping people figure out what this means for them. I can help you figure out what is getting in the way and teach you skills and tools for taking the steps you want to take to create a life that works. We don't always have choice about our life circumstances. However, if you choose to acknowledge your pain and are ready to do the work to heal, I can help you find a path forward.
