About My Clients
My grief therapy clients have lost loved ones or are dealing with a different kind of loss, and use our therapy to make space in their life for grief—to express and process it, build skills and support to tolerate it, and learn from it. My money therapy clients come to me for support in moving their money behavior into alignment with their values, goals, plans, or wishes. We create a confidential, non-judgmental space to uncover, express, and process your emotional money life.
My Background and Approach
I mainly practice psychodynamic, relational, and attachment-based psychotherapies, bringing in other therapeutic practices depending on my clients' wants and needs. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia. Informing my therapy practice also includes experiences at the historic LGBT Center in NYC as an addictions counselor, grief counseling at Hospice by the Bay, immersive nature play therapy with groups of kids through Fiddleheads, and attachment-focused family therapy with parents with young children at Through the Looking Glass. My therapy lens is also shaped by over a decade of deep involvement in racial and economic justice movements.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I came to this work because I believe we need more spaces to grieve--our personal losses, our communal losses, and the state of the world. It is an honor to be with my clients in their grief and to grieve alongside them. Grieving allows us to learn from the past, to learn from our feelings, to be more connected to ourselves and to each other, to face reality, and to take action from a grounded and connected place.
