About My Clients

I work with adults who might be dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, or other challenging experiences. Many are LGBTQIA+ or neurodivergent, and a lot of them have had to minimize or edit themselves to be seen, heard, and understood. What they're looking for isn't a quick fix. It's a place where they can slow down, explore themselves freely, and be met without judgment. You don't need to have it all figured out before you reach out. That's what we'll work through together.

My Background and Approach

I draw from psychodynamic, person-centered, existential, narrative, DBT, and EFT approaches, but the work always starts with the relationship we build together, grounded in acceptance and non-judgment. From there, we move through three phases: - Explore: naming the experiences and patterns that brought you here. - Discern: looking beneath the surface to understand where those patterns come from. - Integrate: turning that understanding into real change in how you relate to yourself and others. My background is multidisciplinary. I'm an M.S.Ed. student in Mental Health Counseling at Penn, graduating May 2027, which has given me a solid clinical foundation. I also hold an M.A. in Public Policy from Stony Brook University, plus years of community organizing and policy work, which taught me how systems function and marginalize people. That shapes how I show up for you. Identity is layered, shaped by culture, history, and society, and I hold that in every session.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I identify as a gay, gender nonconforming man. As a white person, I've worked to identify and dismantle my own implicit biases, grounded in liberation and feminist theories and anti-racism. That work never ends. I practice cultural humility, an ongoing process of self-reflection, self-critique, and learning while recognizing my own limits. I believe in guaranteeing basic human needs to mitigate poverty, unemployment, and illness. I oppose governments and systems that oppress, marginalize, and harm. As a Jew, I'm guided by the concept of "tikkun olam", or "repairing the world", and by Pirkei Avot, an ancient text and a call to ethical, communal responsibility. I also serve on the Board of Directors of Mazzoni Center, Philadelphia's largest LGBTQ+ health and wellness organization. I share all this not because our work together is about me. It's not. But I want you to know who I am and what I stand for, so you can make an informed decision about who you trust and work with.
