About My Clients
Many of my clients work in film, television, theater, music, literature, and the visual arts. I understand the particular pressures of a creative career: the vulnerability, the uncertainty, the way your identity and your work become tangled together. I also work with people navigating relationship challenges, trauma and PTSD, depression, anxiety, and major life transitions — career change, grief, the end of a relationship, an international move.
My Background and Approach
I have been a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2004. I seek to provide clients a safe, non-judgmental place to express and explore their challenges, and help them to rediscover their talents, strengths and resources. My goal is to create collaborative partnerships that enable clients to move away from self-blame and judgment and help them to find solutions that are consistent with their values and beliefs. I use EMDR to help clients reprocess trauma and my work is guided by my training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindful Awareness Practices, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I welcome all kinds of couples and have worked extensively with hetero, LGBTQ+, biracial, and multicultural relationships. I also have a particular interest in providing support to clients with ME/CFS and Long Covid and their caregivers, and I bring personal experience to these issues.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that each of us has the innate ability and desire to lead a fulfilling life and have satisfying relationships. I believe that human connection is healing, and that the world needs all kinds of people. And I believe that the arts are vital to a healthy society -- thus my commitment to supporting people in creative fields.
